OBJECTIVE AND SOLUTION

This was a new development in Sandton for Werksmans Attorneys. The building has 5 levels of underground parking, lighting usage is 24hours per day. The existing design was for standard surface mounted 2x58W fluorescent fittings in the basement parking levels. Property developers approached us to come up with an alternative LED substitute to T8 fluorescent tubes. The IP65 unit was tested and approved based on its light output, ease of installation and 5-year warranty. If we consider that a 2x58W Fluorescent fitting would consume approx. 125W with ballast then the IP65 at 44W represents a total saving of close to 65% on power usage alone not even taking maintenance costs into account.
