01 · What we actually do

Not a wholesaler.
We do the whole job.

Most LED suppliers sell you a fixture and wave goodbye. Design's your problem. Installation's your problem. And if something stops working six months in, that's also your problem. We've never run it that way. Brief us with the site and you get a lighting designer on the job within a couple of days: running the lux model, the CAD layout, and factoring in the maintenance losses you'll see in year three and year five (the bit most quotes quietly skip). We spec the kit, we import it directly, and a project manager from our team runs the install, with crews we've worked alongside for years, on contractor agreements that hold them to our standards. One number to call when it's all going right. Same number when something needs sorting. And if you want a maintenance SLA after we leave site, we do those too.

02 · Applications

Eight environments
we engineer for.

Each environment has its own technical envelope: lux levels, uniformity, glare, IP rating, emergency, controls. Our designers work the spec to the South African standards (SANS 10114) and your operational reality.

01 / Logistics

Logistics & warehousing

High-bay LED that puts the light on the picking aisles. Sensor-controlled zoning where it'll pay back, IP-rated where the dust demands it. Energy payback usually inside 24-36 months on a tired metal-halide retrofit.

02 / Industrial

Industrial & manufacturing

Production-floor lighting and machine-task illumination, properly specified for the process. ATEX-rated where the zone demands it, blast-rated where the safety case requires it. Documentation in your inbox before procurement even asks.

03 / Commercial

Commercial & office

Open-plan workstation lighting that doesn't fight against natural daylight. Meeting-room rigs with the circadian temperature shift wellness teams now spec, daylight harvesting where the windows make it worth it, and presence-based controls that quietly drop the energy bill.

04 / Retail

Retail

Retail rigs for high-street fashion, we've fitted out Spitz and Gant stores, plus anchor mall tenants. Accent and ambient lighting tuned to the merchandise (CRI 90+ matters when the customer is comparing the colour of two leather jackets), with controls integrated to trading hours.

05 / Hospitality

Hospitality & residential

Hotels, lodges and Cape winelands estates, lighting that turns a venue into an experience. Architectural feature lighting, in-room scenes, atmospheric exterior rigs that meet eco-tourism specs without compromising the mood. Dedicated account lead in this vertical, you don't get passed around.

06 / Sports

Sports & recreation

Stadium lighting, indoor courts, training facilities. Broadcast-grade lux levels where the venue carries TV, club-grade where it doesn't; we'll tell you which one your venue actually needs.

07 / Healthcare

Healthcare

Ward, theatre annex, corridor and consulting-room lighting, designed to the clinical brief: ward, theatre annex and consulting-room grade. Coordinated with our Medical Solutions silo and Maqcare brand when surgical or examination kit needs to share the ceiling.

08 / Exterior

Exterior lighting

Floodlights, carpark and roadway lighting, perimeter security, pedestrian wayfinding and the photocell or timeclock controls that go with them. Built for the SA sun in the day, the SA wind at night, and whatever the security brief looks like in between.

04 · Why Lamphouse

Three things that
actually matter on site.

Plenty of companies will sell you LED. A handful will design with it. Fewer still will install it and commission it properly. We do all three under one roof, with one team accountable from brief to switch-on, which is why our public-sector and corporate clients keep coming back.

01

A designer takes the brief

Every job starts with one of our lighting designers. They'll run the lux calcs, the CAD layout, the glare study, and the payback model. And they'll factor in the maintenance losses you'll see in year three and year five (the bit most quotes quietly skip). Then we quote the kit, knowing it's actually going to do the job.

02

B-BBEE Level 2, and the docs are ready

Procurement teams in the public sector, listed corporates and BEE-graded supply chains can buy from us without an exception process. Certificate is current, the structure is real, and the documentation is in your inbox the same day you ask for it. No friction at the spreadsheet stage.

03

One project manager, accountable end-to-end

Our own project managers run every install: from our branches in Cape Town, Joburg and Durban, and out to sites countrywide using install partners we've worked alongside for years. Crews work to our contractor agreements and our commissioning standard, with our PM on site or on the phone at every milestone. And if you want a maintenance SLA after we leave, that's on the table too. When something needs sorting, you call us.

05 · The promise

What you get when
you brief our team.

24-hour response, committed timelines

Every brief is answered by a named specialist within one business day. Straightforward supply and stocked fittings are specced on the spot. Lux modelling, CAD layouts and large-project proposals get a scoped programme with committed dates, because a proper lighting design is built on your site, mounting heights and real measurements.

National stock & install

Holdings in CT, JHB and DBN with overnight courier to anywhere else in the country. Install teams in each city.

Warranty & tech support

Manufacturer-backed warranty on every unit, technical support from engineers who know the application.

06 · In the field

Warehouse retrofit, payback in 22 months, glare zero.

Distribution warehouse · high-bay LED retrofit

“Lux on the floor went up 35%. The energy bill dropped 60%. And the forklift drivers stopped complaining about glare. That’s about as good as a brief outcome gets.”

A national distribution warehouse swapped 600+ ageing metal halide high-bays for LED in a single phased rollout. The brief looked simple, until you read it twice. They wanted more lux on the picking aisles, fewer fixtures than what was up there (capex was tight), and zero glare for the forklift drivers on the cross-aisles. The first two usually fight each other.

Our designer modelled the warehouse in Relux off the existing CAD, ran three fixture options with different optics, and went with the beam pattern that put the light on the work, without pushing it into a forklift driver's line of sight at eye level. The procurement team got payback modelling alongside the spec, so finance signed off the same week. And we commissioned over weekends, so the warehouse never stopped picking.

Whether it's an office floor, a factory line or an outdoor carpark, the approach is essentially the same: design first, supply second, install with our PM running point. Brief us on your site → (Figures above are composite from typical Lamphouse warehouse retrofits, happy to walk through a specific named project under NDA.)

Got a site you've been
meaning to sort out?

Tell us about it: a floor plan if you've got one (a rough sketch is fine), the ceiling height, what's currently up there, your capex envelope and when you'd want it done by. We'll come back inside the week with a lux model, a costed bill of materials, an install plan and a payback that's honest about year-three losses. Or if you'd rather just talk it through first, that works too.
